Great News!
4:45 P.M. and I was not going to write till tomorrow. I was out of stamps; I used my last stamp for some damn legal mail. But I have secured a stamp so I am now putting these words on paper for you.
First the GREAT NEWS. The package room has confirmed I can get the
Smith Corona Wordsmith 250! Yeah, that is how sad my life is. Although one memo I saw said we were limited to 7,000 bytes of memory, the catalog specs say this has 14K or so!
5:20 P.M. I got a packet of stuff to file my next step with the U.S. Appellate Court. It
reads like those directions for your
fog machine. I have ten days to file some stuff and thirty days to file arguments. I might need you to send my legal work which is in those two boxes you have. I will confirm that shortly.
I hope the typewriter comes soon or I am
up Shit Creek. Any delay on filing and the case is tossed out. Great. I started writing this before commissary sheets were given out in case I get screwed out of ordering stuff I need for another two weeks.
Already I have had one stressor after dinner. Here’s hoping I do not get two! Plus to make matters worse they want $250 to give me the right to have them look at my case. Damn, I need to mail the letter out tonight with my new address and telling them I will file as a "poor person". This is beginning to have the makings of a cluster fuck! SNAFU!
I got my commissary. They took half my balance from Downstate and did not credit the $45 Mom and Dad sent me, which I received Thursday. So I only have $69 to spend. I could spend $55 on general stuff and $18.50 on stamps and $37.50 on specials like radio, light, and fan.
