To the person that borrowed the 30 empty Diet Coke cans:
Posted

As a result of the removal of my personal property the other day I was tempted to post the following on the bulletin board. I admit that while I did share it with a few inmates, I chickened out and never posted it.

ATTENTION

To the person that borrowed the 30 empty Diet Coke cans:

I am under a moral obligation to advise you that some of the cans were not properly rinsed.

This means you may have come in contact with a contagious disease. It is imperative that you contact the prison medical personnel as soon as possible. You should tell them you may have come in contact with some unwashed soda cans from bunk (You know what bunk).

I am not bothering to sign my name or bunk number, but you know who I am and where you got those cans from. I hope the $1.50 you will get from returning the cans was worth the risk.

Please do not worry too much; prompt medical attention has been up to seventy percent effective in preventing the disease from doing much damage.

Good Luck!!!!

Oh Pete! heehee! I could not help but giggle when I read what you thought about posting on the prison info board. You and I think a lot alike. I am so very happy you didn't do it...but it would have been funny!! Of course, once thought through AND written down somewhere (I believe strongly in that), sometimes our anger only needs permission to BE. And that's all it takes....no need to take it any further. My opinion...for what it's worth...the faster you put this thug out of your mind and get on with your everyday routine, I think the better off you are going to be. It's just not worth screwing up your future over a little more than $1.50 or even the principal of the thing. I know being robbed feelings extremely violating and if you have ever robbed someone of something (think about it) maybe this is just a small way for you to know what feelings are involved when you are the one who loses. I say these things only in love. On the other hand, personally, I would not give that idiot troublesome inmate the time of day, but if challenged again, face to face, kill the man with kindness. If he took your cans, offer him also, your shirt ........yours, Bobbie Lou (you know who) p.s. I have been violently ill (flu, bronchitis, asthma, fever, sinus) and home in bed for a week now....today is the first day I have felt like getting up and I think I should get another letter from you tomorrow, possibly because your editor said I should expect one. Still have to read the last few.....I've been too sick my friend...but will and will reply as soon as I regain some strength, hopefully in a day or two. Still enjoy hearing from you! bye for now.
